78 Fiat 124 Spider - KEYS

Postby MrBlimp » Sun Jun 25, 2017 8:56 pm

What is the best source for keys? The PO only had the one set.

Also, one key opens the trunk and gas cap. The second works in the ignition. Is there a third for the door locks? It seems neither key opens them (car came with extra set of doors - I'll check the keys in those locks tomorrow).

Most full-service locksmiths have blanks for these two keys. The trunk key should also work on the doors. I never lock my doors; the contents of my glove box are worth far less than a new top.

I bought factory blanks from AR: https://autoricambi.us/pages/search-res ... y_offset=0

Brought them to get cut a my local hardware store and they work perfectly. Cheap too, assuming you tack on other items to cover shipping...
