Found original owner to my car! In my neighborhood!

Postby Jrscobra » Sun Mar 19, 2017 11:13 am

So strange. I'm sitting on the couch researching parts, then a knock at the door.
Gentleman tells me he owned this car from 75-2004. Ok. Not original, but most of its life. We talked for a while and he plans on showing me some wheels in his garage that go to the car! I find out the car was originally Orange! I verified that a few days ago while didsassembling the trunk area.

I invited him back I. A few months to see the progress, but he only lives here at his lake house part time. Hope to see him in the future and let him drive it for a run down memory lane!

So cool to hear about this cars history! The top on the car came from JC Whitney for 75.00 back in the early 80s!

He plans on coming back by before he leaves town.

Thought I'd share.

Very cool. I'd love to meet the original owner of my car.

That is awesome....what are the odds?
Lucky you.
(Maybe buy a lottery ticket in case there is a horseshoe up there... )
He might have some old pics lying around, which would be really cool to see/scan/copy.

Ditto! Very cool! I even went as far as going into old archives of this site and super old archives of the other site in order to get a hint of who owned mine. The PO could not give me any information. the PO PO was definately an experienced Fiat enthusiast, i just know it.
That said, such a knock on the door could be a gift of useful information.
Buy the lottery ticket.

Awesome story!

On a related note, I sold my '79 Spider last year to a chap out in Grand Rapids, MI (roughly 2 hours from where I live) and thought I'd never see the car again. Turns out he just moved and joined the same company I work at :o
