Spiders in the movies

Postby WarbirdAL » Mon Jun 06, 2011 12:36 pm

For some reason I watched Terminator on Sunday, (nothing else to do I guess). No money to drive my car ha. Anyways there it was a red Spider in the parking garage scene.

There's a red one in Stripes as well. Shows up when John Larroquette's character (Capt. Stillman) learns that the assault RV is missing.

I've noticed in a lot of Americam film from mid 80's tp mid 90's you'll almost always find a fiat in the background somewhere, always brings a smile to my face..

Watched 'Paper Giants' the other day and was loving the 1970's footage, with lots of Toranas etc going across the Harbour Bridge - then I spotted an 850 Sport!

Check out the X-Files series currently available on Netflix. There are 2 (!) Fiat Spiders, one red, one sky blue, that get decent air time on the episode titled "Fight Club," season 7 episode 20. It is one of the more campy episodes but fun to see a pair of Spiders getting some air time. 8)

Not a movie but, the commercial for The Velocity Channel's Restoration Garage shows an orange 124 in the background.

Huh.. I musta missed that one. I worked on Mackinac Island as a carriage tour driver for a summer.

<bad tour joke>
While on the island, Christopher Reeves got into an accident with a female taxi cab driver. The taxi cab driver on Mackinac Island are no joke, female or not... They ended up getting into an argument, and the taxi driver started swinging... Someone pulled her back and told her they didn't want the headlines to read "Superman beaten up by a woman"..

Programe is being filmed in january but the car was filmed back in may, and as part of the sale agreement i get tickets to the show thus beating the 113 year waiting list!
There is some pics of the car already on the net, they did a lot of work to turn it into an Abarth replica,
