thoughts on diffy change

Just changed my diffy from a 4.3 to 3.9 in my 2Lfi. Also added a limited slip. The ratio change made the gear selection more realistic, meaning I'm now a gear down at speeds under 50 mph, making the gear ranges more "normal". I don't notice any difference in acceleration (i'm sure there is some if I put a watch to it). Has plenty of passing power above 50. Ran it up to 5k rpm (90mph?) and it was still pulling strong when I got off the gas ( I was in a 50 mph zone). So, I'm happy with the change.
Haven't had a chance to mess much with the LSD, but first impressions are it wants to kick the rear end out faster than before.

Congratulation on the diffy change. I am happy for you that it went well and the outcome successful. This is not a job for the faint of heart. Careful with the speeding.

yes. the car has a tranny and diffy out of a 71. I do have a good 80 diffy and an 80 tranny that pops out of gear.
