Vendors & members who've treated me right!

Postby maytag » Fri Dec 02, 2011 8:57 pm

Hey all!!

So, based on some of the negative traffic lately, including a post I made earlier today in another thread, I thought I'd see if I could change the tone just slightly.

I think often we hear about the unhappy transactions, but the good ones go unnoticed.

So I thought I'd start a thread about the various vendors and members of the forum who have treated me well, fairly, resolved problems well when they arose, etc etc.
I'll start it off, but I'd encourage others to add their own stories of great vendors or members who have made Fiat owning and forum membership a great thing.

But PLEASE: keep it positive here. if you want to be negative and talk about someone who hosed you... start another thread!

I'll start with:
Vick's They have been AWESOME to me. They ship promptly, they are courteous on the phone, very knowledgeable, and have even given me parts for free when they felt like it wasn't of high enough quality to sell.

Millers Mule: Jason has developed some of the coolest parts. VERY high quality, excellent customer service, reasonably priced... and he's from Texas, so My wife says he's 100% trustworthy. I am very happy with the customer-service I've received there.

Csaba: Beautiful pistons, great service, very knowledgeable but offers that knowledge in an unassuming fashion. I like that.... because it allows me to act like I know just as much as he does... even though that ain't close to true.

Member FIAT124FL:
I bought a trans from him. Easy to get along with. Well priced, well-packaged. Shipped promptly from the other side of the world (almost) with no issues. I'd buy from him again in a heartbeat.

There are probably others, but these are the ones that come to mind. Do NOT think that because they're not listed that I would have nothing good to say about them. There may be some vendors I really appreciate, and who I intend to do business with, but until I do, I can't post here with first-hand experience.

WHo's up?
I'm no Boy-Racer..... but if I can't take every on-ramp at TWICE the posted limit.... I'm a total failure!

I have also had great service from vices with no complaints. They know their business . Now with Csaba,Speak of someone knowing what you need more than you. Let's just say he went above and beyond with my heater valve issue and it will not be forgotten. He has my business. And then there is 124joe. Don't know what to say other than he is always the first to offer help and even encouragement. Thanks Joe. Many others have helped but the wife said to put the phone down and eat so. Thanks everyone.

Ramzi at Autoricambi
Mark Allison (Allison Automotive) Stood behind his product and replaced same when I incorrectly thought it was defective.
Member: George K. (NJFIAT1981) Good prices on used parts.
Defatta Bros. Baltimore, MD bent over backward for me on initial contact to find a used part not available through the vendors.
M&T Mfg (soft top) fixed an issue right away on their nickel.

FIAT124 FL is a very easy and honest guy to deal with.
Have never had an issue with any vendor here. Mark Alison has always treated me right. Any small issues were taken care of right away. Manoa Matt sells great stuff and can't beat the shipping prices. Ask him for a pic of the view from his office. M.Bruchette was just plain old great. Csaba has always been a guy to go to for the hard to find. Brady Jones sells some cool and unusual stuff. I know I'm missing someone but it's not on purpose. Like I said. Never had a problem here with anyone. A really nice bunch of folks. Regards all, George

I think you're all great. Hey, sometimes we al have bad days and some "business" transactions go awry but at the end of the day all the vendors are here to support us and keep FIATS on the road. And all the members of this forum seem generous and cool.

Thanks for making Spider ownership EVEN BETTER. :D

George

Speaking as someone on the other side of the world.

Mark Allison (Allison Automotive) = Good service, good support always willing to help.
manona matt = Good source of parts, good prices and fast postage.
lanciahf = Always has helped and assisted with sourcing parts and organising freight.
Bruce's = Good service, fast shipping.

I haven't had to buy much for my Fiat but I have bought a few things from IAP and Vick's. I received good information and advice from both.

I have never had a problem, or at least one that was not fixed, by any of the previously listed vendors. I would add that "Classic Ricambi" has superior customer service although a limited selection of 124 parts. They do have some very nice European gauge clusters. The other supplier I use is "spider-point", they have an outstanding list of availible parts and the Euro is making them very affordable, they are easy to work with.

Good string, I have revisited some of the listed sites after being reminded of them.

I did notice that as of last night, 4-11-12,that they still had some item listed on eBay motors. There was a limited selection, however they I'd have the GMB water pump for 27 dollars plus shipping (going from memory so I may be wrong). I bought one from them, it was a good quality part, they also still have the water valves ( standard and ceramic) for the heater cores on the 124. I did not see the gauge clusters, bummer they were the only vendor hat I have seen that offered them specifically for the 124 although I m sure you could find a set from VDO.

Everyone that`s already on here probably doesn`t need to be told this, but I can highly recommend the above business.

I ordered a couple of new Fiat badges of him from the website. The quality is really really excellent. Quick to arrive too, bearing in mind it`s Nova Scotia. Spider trunk looks a treat now. Absolutely delighted. Thanks.
