1800 heads
1800 heads yes and no. Yes the 1800 heads will raise compression about 1/2 a point but they flow less than the 2L heads. Unless you need a head I would leave it and wait for a piston upgrade.

I'd like to see flow figures for stock 1.8 and 2L heads. IMHO, I think this is an urban legend about a 2L head flowing better.

lanciahf, just curious. how did u come to the conclusion that the 2l flows better. ive been told, by people that have more experience with this then me that the 2 liter actually flows not as well as the 1800. and while talking to croft about what i was doing and what i wanted him to do with this head, he never threw up any red flags. does anyone have any real specs on this. or are we all working off hearsay.
thanx reyy

I just don't see a reason for less flow on a 2l, similar ports and shape. I'll agree that the cc is different

According to the Croft book the 2 liter has bigger ports than the 1800. The only other one is the 1608 which has the same size ports but with a more shrouding of valves. I understand the trick set up is welded up 1608 head has it has bigger ports and higher compression than the 1800. However have not seen any real dyno numbers but the specs say it would produce more.
