Titanium valves?

Postby TulsaSpider » Mon Jan 11, 2016 8:36 pm

I bought a re man head from a gentleman who told me the valves were titanium. They are oversized, but a magnet sticks to them. I'm wondering if he's pulling my chain.Do they make titanium valves for these motors?

If they are the head would be worth a bit?? Ask him who rebuilt it and where they got the valves from??

I don't think they are titanium, they are magnetic, they are 43 MM diameter at intake at least.

Did he mean titanium valve springs? Because those exist - for some engines.

Titanium valve retainers exist for these engines.

retainers would be my guess. they aren't expensive. springs are. valves are. titanium isn't magnetic whereas there are magnetic alloys of stainless (what the valves probably are).

Yes, of course they do, if you want to pay for them. I doubt too many companies stock them, but companies like Del West will make you pretty much whatever you want.
