I've done the same. I bought some heat wrap for the hoses near the headers. No issues after 5 years..

That's exactly it Mark.. But I have no over heating issues and I'm not wrapping anything.. Even the brakes are fine and the booster is a 1/4 away at one point.. I have wrapped the fuel lines and plan on wrapping or shielding the entire length of it.

I saw a new product at SEMA used for coating headers. It can be sprayed, brushed or dipped. With coating on both inside and out, temps 1" from the tube was 130F with the engine running. It will be available in December and I plan on stocking it
