It's actually an event I went to last year in Charlotte. Nice cars and a great little restaurant. I think there were 3 Fiats total last year so it would be nice to get a few more.

Guilio,

Love the look. The stance with lights looks really aggressive/fast/cool... 8)

Thanks Joe. I'll try to have it all done by the time we meet. I decided to go with the VW Bug style chrome T-Bars. The least expensive and easiest to convert. Less than $25 for a pair shipped.

I just got an email about the Charlotte gathering. I hope there's enough information for everyone to join us:

Hello all,

It's that time again... our biggest event of the year is coming up on
April 20th. Last time, we had nearly 100 vehicles on display, and that
was after a shift to the rain day! I know we can top that this year
and have our most successful field to date!!

You may begin registering immediately.

Tomaso, Ducati, Vespa, Aprilia, MV Agusta, Moto Guzzi, and much, much
more!

lunch for all participants ($10 gift card per registered vehicle).

their favorites in a number of classes and awards will be presented to
the winners.

to contact me with your name and the following related to your vehicle -

Thanks Denise.

Who's planning on registering? What condition would your car have to be in? I don't know if my car is quite ready for it yet. :)

Sounds like a great place to meet, but we'd have to figure out where. Maybe we could all post our phone #s so we could do a group text to decide the best location to meet at. Unless someone is familiar with the Blakeney shopping center to suggest a meeting place.

From Google Maps, it looks like Zoe's Kitchen may be a good spot depending on how crowded it gets. But please chime in.

Giulio

Your car does not have to be perfect for this event. There are very expensive cars at this event and some rare, beautiful ones at that, but people enjoy seeing the ones they can afford as well as their dream cars. The kids loved mine and hovered around it more than the Ferraris and Lambos. Don't be shy about the condition of your car. I go to these shows to meet people and enjoy the eye candy. If you don't feel comfortable putting your car in the show, come down anyway and park nearby. It's so much more than the sheet metal.
My email address is spyderlady71@yahoo.com. Please email me with your contact information and we'll try to meet up.
It looks like I can actually attend this event and am excited about it. All the other events on my calendar coincide with a race and that knocks me out of attending.

OK. I may just do that.

And if there is anyone else that is planning on meeting that day, please let us know if you're going to register your car. But $15 is not that much and the sponsor restaurant is providing lunch (or $10 towards it) and a parking space :) It would also be great to get us all in the same area.

Joe (Hobo) - You should definitely put your car in, with your extremely low miles and original condition.

My email is giuliot60@gmail.com if anyone wants to contact me, but if we keep the communication in this post everyone will have a better idea of what is going on.

I will not be able to attend the event in Charlotte because we are having a 92nd birthday party for my Father-in –Law that day.

I wanted to pass on information on an event the following Saturday, 4/27/2013, that we Fiat drivers in the area could attend that will benefit a good cause. On Saturday, April 27th, we are having a Cruise ‘N Barbeque event at our church here in Salisbury with the proceeds going to a member who is battling with late stage Lou Gehrig’s disease (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, or ALS). The event will include a Poker Run in the morning(you drive a route and pick a card from the deck at each of 5 stopping points. Prize money is awarded for the best and worst hand) and a Car Show in the afternoon. There will be a DJ playing Beach Music, a half and half raffle (winner gets half of the pot), and numerous items also to be raffled. Port-a-Pit chicken barbecue plates will be sold as well as home made ice cream. This is not necessarily a show for trailer queen cars. Many of the show cars will also participate in the morning poker run. At the last event the only non-Detroit cars in the show were my Fiat and an MGB. I think it would be neat to have a good contingent of our classic Fiats as well as some of the new Fiat 500 cars.

I have attached a link to the Facebook site which has the details and will be up-dated with new information. I think this would be a good event for us to get together and show off the Fiat brand. It is also benefiting a good cause.

Why is everything on a Saturday?! I'd love to go to the ALS Barbeque but can't make it. Is anyone sure if we'll have a spring this year? So far it's not looking favorable.

Another email about the show in Charlotte April 20th:

Hello All,

Just a week into registration and we already have over 45 entrants! Of
course, this is just a fraction of the final field we'll end up with.
So don't hesitate, go ahead and get yourself registered to join us on
April 20th (original announcement below).

A couple of frequently asked questions:

Does my vehicle need to be in pristine show condition?

Absolutely not! This event is a fun celebration of all things
motorized from Italy. ALL vehicles are welcome whether they are just
off the showroom floor or showing many years of enjoyed use!!

Must I stay the whole time if I have another obligation that day?

Not at all. While we'd love to have all vehicles in the field from
11am-3pm, we understand you may need to roll on to something else that
day. Simply stay as long as you can - attendees will enjoy seeing your
vehicle for as long as it can be on display.

Thanks!
