Seat Belts

Postby Rambo » Tue Jun 07, 2016 5:24 pm

I have my original seat belts and it takes a few minutes just to put them on because you have to pull VERY slowly to avoid locking them up. So my question is, where do you all buy your seat belts from?

Seatbelt Planet. Good folks in Oklahoma. They have a Fiat Spider kit for a little over $200. My new belts work great.

Seatplanet seat belts, are they the right length? They use to make them with the wrong length.

Replaced mine several years ago with belts from Wesco Performance. Tan color is a little darker than original but they fit just like the originals.

The length on my belts from Seatbelt Planet seems just fine. I believe it's within an inch or two of the originals that I pulled out. They make them to order, so I'm sure you can get any length you want. I ended up getting a set of plastic sleeves from them later to protect the belts where they bolt to the side rails of the floor pan. This was a good improvement and makes them easier to grab. I still need to get a set of belt guides that attach to the head rest posts.

Can someone here tell me if on an '893 Spider the belt feeds up from the spool or down? I didn't pay attention when I pulled the old ones and the spool can mount either way. I have a feeling pulling down is the wrong way..

On my '82, the belt feeds out from the top of the spool.
