I think the engine blocks were originally black but I think that is not only dull but hides any leaks. Mine is silver as that's Guy Croft's signature colour. It works though as it is sort of neutral but not dull and will show up any leaks.

As for the transmission, again the bell housing is silver and the 'box was refurbished with the aluminium casing looking great after bead blasting.

So I guess, in summary, silver is my recommendation!

Just keeping the engine clean and fairly original looking. Upgrades limited to higher volume water pump, aluminum radiator, direct channel to the airbox, higher efficiency plugs/wires, K&N filter, wrapped manifold below the guard, lighter timing gears. The blue 'FIAT' was an indulgence. running without the timing covers for better heat flow/dissipation throughout.

It´s an Spain Club member´s car. Fiat 124 Abarth Gr IV, full rallye specs.
Dual Weber 50 mm, titanium rods, hi comp. pistons, and original Abarth 16 v head (almost impossible to find). This engine gives arround 190 hp!

The rest of the car is still better, with fibre hood and bonnet, aluminium doors, and independent rear suspension. Simply awesome!!

I bet the fan is in front of the rad.
Looks like there is no booster. From the two reservoir under the cowl I assume the car has been converted to individual racing master cylinders. One each for the front and rear circuits, so the brake balance can be adjusted mechanically.

Nearing the end of my resto/mod project. I will post several pics of the car later but here is a look of the engine compartment. The car is a 1975 with a lot of upgrades.

Here are some partial shots. I gave up on trying to keep the engine polished so I just try to keep it clean.
