HELP is this OK?

Postby geospider » Sun Oct 08, 2017 8:03 pm

with AR springs: all bolted up: all shims replaced as before.
has this unloaded camber: is this OK. the edge of the upper control arm hits the brake shield and the brake caliper won't go on: hits the steering arm.
will it all change when loaded. If so, I will need to put the rest with jack under lower control arm. haven't seen or read anything like this on any threads.

THANKS TO ALL WHO KNOW MORE

That does not look at all right. I think something is incorrectly assembled. Compare to other side?

well, I figured out part of it.
and worst part is I looked at this over and over: the knuckle is upside down: stupid; like I wanted to do all of this again.
I don't think that would change the camber: length of knuckle is unchanged.

I think every time I post I feel more brainless

Please tell me thats it

Looks like you have it upside down? longer neck belongs on the top, yours looks like it is on the bottom

We've all been there...we think that we'll remember how we took something apart or that it can only go back together one way...only to get burned later. Sometimes life gets in the way and we can't reassemble for several weeks (memory fades), or there are multiple ways to re-assemble a component (with only one correct way).

Anymore, I just make it a habit to take several pictures of all major assemblies as I remove and disassemble them...or I'll use masking tape on parts to indicate things like left/right, up/down, fore/aft, inboard/outboard. It's saved me several times.

thanks all. yep upside down. another objective look proved that.
I "thought" I had everything taken off and put in separate boxes, etc. and yes awhile between taking apart and reassembly
pretty sure R and L for these are the same, so ball jts apart and flip. unless I am wrong there too

correction: R and L not the same: I do have them on the correct sides: as I re did the hub bearings and the R and L hand threading is correct.
gotta stop trying to think when the sun goes down. or maybe its the beer

I saved my old cell phone to use as a garage camera to help my memory when putting things back together. It remembers things a whole lot better than I do.
