Greetings from Seattle

Hello,
Just purchased a 1975 Spider on CL. I wasn't really looking for this car in particular - or had any idea of its rich history and following until after purchase - just saw a good deal on a fun looking car and jumped on it :)

I'm not particularly a car person or have a history of working on cars, but it's awfully dark and rainy here in the winter months and learning how to take care of a classic car seemed like:
- a nice way to introduce my kiddos to the idea that we can do things with our hands
- a great low-key hobby that would match up nicely with my friend's new purchase of a 1981 BWM 2002
- super rewarding as I build virtual things all day, and it's nice to troubleshoot and problem solve something mechanical for a change
- super fun to drive around!

The short term plan is just some look & feel upgrades like removing the bumpers, adding the dam, and replacing the completely mangled center console. Then moving on to new brakes, the leaky oil pan, the leaky rear dif, new heater core, and I was told she needed "new brakes" but I haven't popped off the wheels yet to really inspect those seriously. Like I said... low key, long term hobby :)

Progress photos and videos will be posted more on Instagram @fiat142.

Welcome! It appears the driving age is young in Washington :-)
