1981 Spider 2000: Finding inline fuse & dual relay for Fuel Pump

Postby jahmalj » Wed Jun 07, 2017 8:32 pm

Hello Folks,

I am new to this board and am from the California, bay area.

I am working on a 1981 Fiat Spider 2000 and I am just learning about cars! I have a friend helping me try to narrow down a problem where the car will not start. I was driving and then it just died on me. It will turn over but not start. We believe it's fuel related so I am trying to replace the inline fuse first and then the dual relay. I ordered a manual but for now could use some help the inline fuse relay and the dual relay.

I think I found the inline but not sure what it looks like. I found the brown/white white wire going into a plastic relay?
The dual relay is under the dashboard but I'm not sure what it looks like.

Any help is appreciated.

Jahmal,

Here is what the dual relay looks like:
http://www.vickauto.com/newstore/index. ... bat27fh481

It is located on a panel, (under your glove box), that you must drop down to see all of the stuff located on the top side of the panel.
It is rare for the dual relay to go bad.

Hi Jahmal,

Shoot me a PM with your email and I'll send you the factory FI troubleshooting guide. It's what you need to sort out fuel injection issues.

Thank you very much, Dave. I found and replaced it but it didn't fix the problem. My friend help me replace the fuel pump and that was it. Thank you very much for the reply as that as a pain.

Thank you very much to all the replies.

I did find the fuse and replaced it but that was not it. My friend helped me replaced the fuel pump and that did the trick. I can't figure our yet how to reply to each message but thank you to all. :)
